Extensive remodeling plus three-story addition to an existing 20 year old log residence. Existing residence work consisted of re-design of three guest suites, modern touches to balcony rail and stair, and complete removal and redesign of the Kitchen and Utility. The Kitchen features a La Cornue cooktop, island, and rotisserie, as well as Miele ovens and Sub-Zero refrigeration. A custom designed pot rack with concealed led lighting completes the transformation.
The three-story addition is designed to match the existing style, although traditional log construction was simulated with fully insulated wall framing and half-log veneer on the exterior. The First Floor Garage allows for direct foul weather connection into the residence and is heated and interior drained with space for two cars plus ATV. The Second Floor may be reached via stair or elevator to the new Master Suite. The Basement features Mechanical and Storage space plus a Wine Room and Study. A re-purposed Bank Vault door serves as the entry into the wine room.
Exterior Landscape and hardscape were updated with a boat dock to the private pond, a bridge across a creek to part of the site, and a sculpture by Skip Wallen along the walking path. An exterior Barbecue Pavilion, attached to the residence, allows for outdoor cooking and bar activity, while an Elena Columbo fire pit provides a focus for warmth and relaxation with a view of the mountains beyond.
